The candidate of the National Congress for the presidency, Omer Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, has affirmed the importance of work for preserving the unity between the north and the south by the end of the interim period which was fixed in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA)
Addressing a mass rally in Aweil, North Bahral-Ghazal State, for launching his election campaign in the state, Al-Bashir said that he will be the happiest person if the southerners voted in favour of the voluntary unity in the referendum on the future of south Sudan, adding that he will work to make unity as the attractive choice
Al-Bashir asserted his keenness to go ahead implementing all clauses of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), providing services for the citizens in the fields of health, education and water, pledging to work for establishment of North Bahral-Ghazal University and qualifying the citizens of the state in all specializations
He said that Aweil is the good model for the national unity and social and tribal co-existence between the northern and southern tribes
Meanwhile, deputy chairman of the national commission for election of Al-Bashir to the presidency, Bona Malwal, called on the citizens of North Bahral-Ghazal State to vote for Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir for the position of the President of the Republic to guarantee the continuity of peace efforts and services for the citizens and completion of the National Agricultural Campaign's schemes
He referred to close ties linking between Aweil area and the northern states |
