The President of the Republic, and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces , Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir received on Sunday the Qatari State Minister for Defense Affairs, Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiya who arrived the country Saturday on a three-day visit.
The Sudanese side chaired by Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibnauf and the Qatari side presided over by Qatari State Minister for Defense Affairs, Dr Khalid Al-Attiya held talks, Sunday morning at the Ministry of Defense in presence of Chief of Joint Staff, State Minister for Defense, Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan , Rashid Al-Nuaimi and members of the visiting delegation.
The talks sought ways of development of aspects of cooperation between the two countries in fields of training, capacity building, , exchange of expertise and coordination over issues of common concern as well as supporting the joint Arab work on security issues.
In the same context, Minister of Defense commended the Sudanese-Qatari relations, referring to partnerships being made in area of military industries and products.
Dr Al-Attiya, on his part, expressed appreciation to government and people of Sudan.
He said that he conveyed greetings of Emir of State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to President Al-Bashir, affirming keens to boost relations between the two countries.
